Launched in February 1993, this journal monthly pioneered the market for construction and built environment s journalism, in Nigeria. Through the years, despite new entrants in the field, CED Magazine enjoys the enviable reputation of being Nigeria’s most respected and credible construction, built environment and business magazine.

A Leadership of Ideas:

When Kenneth Odusola-Stevenson conceived of the idea of a mainstream, construction, built environment and business magazine in 1993, he had a very clear vision. That vision was to act as a catalyst and create a climate in which professional, business and entrepreneurship could flourish and thereby enable the Nigerian economy to rapidly join the ranks of more advanced world economies.

At the time of its launch, the built environment, construction and business precinct was considered forbidden territory for journalism. Unfazed by what was considered socially incorrect in those days, CED Magazine ventured out to achieve its objectives.

Since then the magazine has been at the forefront of forecasting and analysing events and trends, reporting on construction, building, business, industry and the financial markets, celebrating professionalism entrepreneurship, promoting a variety of viewpoints, while all along setting new standards and benchmarks. In the process, CED Magazine provided a leadership of ideas to help shape government policy, sponsor intellectual capital, and encourage professionalism, entrepreneurial skills and business talent in the country.

The magazine’s primary objective is to create awareness and educate public opinion on critical issues and choices in Construction and built environment industry, business, industry, the economy and society; to generate discussion and debate on policies and alternatives; and to provide a leadership of ideas.

Today this credo is as valid as it was in 1993. Over the last two decades, the magazine has in fact remained truly committed to its values and beliefs. In the process it has built enormous goodwill and a loyal following in corporate Nigeria. It would not be an exaggeration to say that in many ways CED Magazine is the voice of construction Industry, built environment professionals and, to a large extent, corporate Nigeria at its best. Which is why CED Magazine has a national presence, commands respect from the business community, government and industry leaders.

Moreover, CED Magazine pioneered new readership markets, when others saw none, and created a new breed of construction, built environment and business reporters and journalists.
