NIGERIAN SOCIETY OF ENGINEERS (NSE) PRESIDENT ENGR. TASIU WUDIL VISTS NEWS ENGINEERING NIGERIA LIMITED

-Pledges robust and sustained collaboration/partnership with News Engineering

The President, Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Engr. Tasiu Wudil, FNSE, has promised that the NSE will continue to maintain a strong and robust relationship with News Engineering Nigeria Limited with a view to build capacity and strengthen industry and Engineering practice in Nigeria.

Engr. Wudil stated this during a courtesy visit to News Engineering at it’s Corporate Headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday June 22, 2022.

Accompanied by top management of NSE, Engr. Wudil who was received by the managing director of News ENGINEERING NIGERIA LIMITED, Lady Josephine NWAEZE and other board members as well as top management of the company, in his opening speech stated that “The leadership of NSE has watched with keen interest, the giant strides achieved by the company over the years as an innovative engineering service company, with the technical and financial capability to compete within the Nigerian and West African Energy and power markets.

Stating that News Engineering as a frontline ENGINEERING organisation in Nigeria, Engr. Wudil confirmed NSE’s appreciation of contributions of the company to the growth of Engineering and the advancement of Nigeria as a nation.

While appreciating the management of News ENGINEERING for their support Engr. Wudil stated that his tenure as president of NSE will see quite a number of innovation geared towards the advancement of Engineering and the professional development including the initiatives on MoU with Government, industry and non-governmental organisation with a view to create opportunities as well as provide the needed welfare for members of NSE.

Engr. Wudil emphasised the need to implement Executive Order 5, signed by President Muhammadu Buhari that is tailored toward the growth of Nigerian economy and building the needed capacity accross the industry value chain.

“Our administration will create the opportunities that will also stimulate interest in the implementation of Executive Order 5 and other relevant government policies”

Speaking further, the NSE PRESIDENT stated that his administration will focus on key strategic policy directions aimed at restoring the NSE to the rightful place in the comity of Engineering organisations globally while also promoting the business and products of Engineering firms/companies such as News ENGINEERING NIGERIA LIMITED.

On professional development and relationship among engineers Engr. Wudil in his speech stated that ” we have noticed a gap in the Industry-Academia relationship which prevent our young professionals from keying into infrastructure development efforts immediately upon graduation. We therefore look forward to crisscrossing experiences in the sectors, to the effect that slots be provided for experienced lecturers in the Academia to undertake sabbatical in the industries while selected industry professionals and Executive Managers in the Industry will acquire teaching slots in specialised unit courses and/or entrepreneurship courses in engineering faculties of universities and polythechnics”

The NSE President further stated that one focus of his administration is the implementation of Smart HQ Solution (SHS) which is expected to provide official Business Space reserved to foster productivity and networking to members and non-members with an integrated technologies, services, tools, and data analytics that empower users to work from home.

Earlier in her welcome address, the managing director of News ENGINEERING NIGERIA LIMITED, Lady Josephine NWAEZE appreciated the NSE, President, Engr. Wudil a long standing friend of the company and his team for choosing News ENGINEERING as one of the few industry players for the visit. The visit, according to Lady NWAEZE is quite significant and very remarkable as it will further reinforce the company’s trust in NSE as worthy partners.

Lady Josephine also use the opportunity to appreciate Engr. Wudil on his contributions to the power sector in Nigeria over the years.
