MOVING FORWARD

Elder Zacchaeus Abiodun Odeleye JP. BSC (Hons) Ife, FNIVS, RSV, FNIM, Principal Partner, Messrs Biodun Odeleye & Co. is a role model to society, an asset and a pride to the Nigerian Nation with great passion for integrity, efficiency, accountability and excellence which constitute his core value.

His motto is “it is better to light a tiny candle than to cause the darkness”, which his signature phase is “passion for excellence”.
This is a man who has left his foot print in the sand of time especially in the annals of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV).

He attended Gbongan/Odeomu Anglican Grammar School from 1966 – 1970 and passed in flying colours.

Elder Zacchaeus gained admission into the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University), came out with B.Sc (First Class Honours) in Estate Management, 1980, (First in the Department). In his youth service, he was a Staff Surveyor with the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria, Ikeja, Lagos (1980 – 1981). After his NYSC service; he became an Estate Surveyor/Associate Partner/Partner with Messrs Jide Taiwo & Co. from August 1981 to January 1986. He made a successful career while working with Messrs Jide Taiwo & Co. as he was elected a professional Associate of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers in 1983 and became a Fellow of the same professional institution in 1993.

He is also a Fellow of the Nigeria Institution of Management (Chartered) and served as a member, Disciplinary Tribunal of Estate Surveyors & Valuers Registration Board (ESVARBON) 2013 till date.

Because of Elder Zacchaeus immerse contribution to the growth and development of the Nigeria Institution of Estate Surveyors & Valuers, he has held several positions in the Institute, which include: Honourary Auditor of NIESV from 1997 to 1999, Vice Chairman of Osun State Branch of the Institution between 1992 to 1998, National Council Member of the Nigeria Institution of Estate Surveyors & Valuers from 1998 – 2004, Member NIESV National Election Committee (2007/2008), Chairman, Electoral Reform Committee of NIESV in 2008, Member, Estate Surveyors & Valuers Registration Board (ESVARBON) 2010 – 2013 and currently serves as Chairman, NIESV Faculty of Housing (from 2015), just too numerous to mention.

Apart from his profession, he equally has strong passion for humanity. He is also a Rotarian actively improved in the club activities. He had served as Assistant Governor of Rotary International District 9130 (2000 – 2003), President, Rotary Club of Osogbo (1988 – 1989), Chairman, District Conference Planning Committee, Rotary International District 9130 (2001 – 2002) and District Trainer, District 9125 (2010 – 2011). He is also a faculty member of Rotary Leadership Institute (since 2009) and Justice of Peace, Osun State (since 2009).

He is the author of the following books: “Toast to life and vision”, “Speaking Treasures” and “A second chance”.

As a Rotarian, he has strong passion as philanthropist and has a large heart for selfless service to humanity. He is a Paul Harris Fellow and a Benefactor of The Rotary Foundation.

He is a recipient of many national and international awards for outstanding contributions, excellent/meritorious services and distinctions in various ramifications and recognized awards by many bodies, groups and functionaries.

He is an ardent advocate of Omoluabi Concept, he preaches ‘Relevance to Society’ as a philosophy.

He is a patron and mentor to many youth organizations/clubs and honourary fellow of some professional associations, participated in all the National Conference of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors & Valuers since 1982 except 3.

He is married to Boluwaji Adediyun of Aniyikaye Dynasty, Oke-Imesi and blessed with resourceful children.

His hobbies include driving, horticultural practice, music, reading and writing.
