Engr. (Dr) Emmanuel Audu –Ohwavborua was born 8th July, 1965 in Eku, Ethiope East Local Govt. Area of Delta State to the deceased Malam and Mrs. Edward Audu-Ohwavborua. He had his primary school education at NBC Primary School, Sapele, Delta State from 1969-1975. He later attended Okotie-Eboh Grammar School, Sapele, Delta State after the mandatory National Common Entrance Examination in 1975. He took the West African School Certificate Examination (WASCE) in 1980 and passed at the Division One Level.
In 1981, he had a scholarship to Federal Polytechnic, Yola now Federal Polytechnic Mubi where he obtained the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Instrumentation and control in 1983 at the Upper Credit Level. He attended the University of Ibadan from 1986-1991 where he bagged both a B.Sc (Hons) Degree in Electrical Engineering. He bagged both a Post Graduate Diploma (PGDM) and Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) in 2004 and 2005 respectively from the University of Calabar. He also wrote and passed the prestigious Project Management Institute Professional Examination in 2009 making him a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). He is a COREN Registered Engineer and has been a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers since 1996 and a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Administration (FICA). In March 2012 He was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy degree (PhD) in Engineering Sciences (Honoris Causa) by Western Pacific University, Denver, United States of America for his numerous contributions to the development of the Engineering and Project Management generally. He also attended the prestigious Harvard Law School, Boston, Massachusetts, USA in September, 2012 where he bagged a Certificate in Negotiation and Leadership. He is currently studying for a PhD in Management at Walden University, Minnesota, United States of America (USA).
Engr. (Dr.) Emmanuel Audu-Ohwavborua has over 22years post graduate working experience spanning Project Management, Business Development, Production Management and Engineering designs for Oil and Gas Plants (upstream and downstream), Power Systems Designs etc. he has held several positions including; Technical Officer (Instrumentation and Control) NEPA, Sapele Power Station- (1983-1986), Site Engineer (Soko-Tech. Ltd)-(1992-1993), Instrument Engineer (NETCO/NNPC) –(1993-1996), Head, Electrical Engineer (B.A Soyode& Co. Ltd. Lagos)- (1996-1997), Design Electrical Engineer (Granherne Limited, working, surrey, United Kingdom), February – November, 1997, Project Engineer (Dresser Kellogg Energy Services Ltd. (1997-1998), Plant Engineer, Shift Engineer, Production Superintendent, Project Manager (Bonny Allied Ind. Ltd. Makers of Rock Cement, port Harcourt). He moved over to the public sector in 2002 as principal manager, Project monitoring & supervision at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). In 2005, he was promoted to Assisted Director and in 2009, he was promoted to Deputy Director, Project Monitoring & Supervision. He was the Head, Western zone, compromising of Delta, Edo and Ondo States in the Directorate of Project Monitoring and supervision from 2009 to 2013. In January 2014, he was deployed to the office of the newly appointed young, dynamic, energetic and charismatic Executive Director, Projects as Deputy Director. He is thus the head of the EDP’s Technical team, a position he occupies till date. Coincidentally, and as fate would have it, he is here today to receive this Fellowship award with his worthy boss (as he calls him), the Executive Director, Projects (NDDC), Engr. Tuoyo Omatsuli (FNSE, FNICE) who is also a recipient.

• He is a titled Chief (Nwane Oma 1) of Ehime-Mbano in Imo State and Olorogun (Obukowho) of Umiaghwa – Abraka Kingdom, Delta State.
He is married to lovely Nkechi and they both have five children; Jenifer (22), Eguono (20), Preston (17), Nneka (13) and Pheodor (11). The family is a devout Christian, (The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Dayspring Parish, Port Harcourt). He loves to workout, watch movies and plays lawn tennis.
