FIABCI Nigeria to Develop Members Capacity in Global Consultancy
The International Real Estate Federation, FIABCI-Nigeria Chapter, has said that in alignment with the parent body’s objective and as part of its contribution to the real estate professional practice in the country, it plans to build its member capacity in global real estate consultancy.
The association stated that it had put together a two-day training programme to give its intending members and members of the chapter an opportunity to commence the process of earning the International Real Estate Consultant Designation.
It said the FIREC foundation courses, Global I and Global II, would be taught in the programme, adding that the two eight-hour courses were required first steps towards earning the FIREC designation.
According to the association, Global I presents an overview of economic, cultural and geographic issues impacting the practice of real estate in major countries and regions around the world while Global II builds on the issues impacting real estate practice around the world, including the importance of an exit strategy.
The statement read in part, “This two-day training programme is partly sponsored by a grant from IHC Global. The sponsorship has enabled the chapter to subsidise the fee for the programme. Global I & II earn FIABCI members 16 points, while 10 credit points has been approved by the Estate Surveyors Registration Board of Nigeria for members of FIABCI Principal Member – The Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers.
“An international facilitator/trainer, Mr Bill Endsley, an expert in international real estate and global economic issues, will be on the ground to equip attendees with skills and knowledge on current real estate trends. He is the President of World Citizen Consulting and a member of FIABCI-USA.”
The association said the current President, National Association of Realtors, Elizabeth Jane Mendenhall, would accompany Mr William Endsley to have a first-hand experience on how successful real estate training courses are delivered.
“She will be joined by some of the past presidents of the association. NAR is America’s largest trade association involved in both the residential and commercial real estate industries. With 1.2 million members including NAR’S institutes, societies and councils, it provides facilities for professional development, research, and exchange of information among its members and to the public and government for preserving the free enterprise system and the right to own real property,” the statement added.
